INTRODUCTION
The Lakeland Terrier breed of dog originates from the Lake District in England around the 1800's. They are descended from Fell Terriers which where used for hunting vermin.

APPEARANCE
Lakeland Terriers are quite small dogs ranging from around 13 to 14.5 inches in height.
They have a doubler layered coat which is soft underneath with a wiry outer-coat.

The most common colour for the Lakeland Terrier breed is black and tan, with many dogs ranging from mainly all black in colour to mainly all tan in colour. There are also other colours including red grizzle, red, tan and blue, liver and tan, wheaton and blue.

CHARACTERISTICS
The Lakeland Terrier dog breed make very good pets as they are excellent with people and children. Lakeland Terriers are very active dogs that love to run around.
