INTRODUCTION
The Belgian Shepherd Dog is a large breed of dog which is a member of the Sheepdog group of dogs. This breed is also commonly know as the Belgian Sheepdog. It has similarities to the German Shepherd dog breed.

APPEARANCE
Their are several variations of the Belgian Shepherd Dog. They are the Belgian Shepherd Groenendael, Belgian Shepherd Laekenois, Belgian Shepherd Malinois and the Belgian Shepherd Tervuren. All Belgian Shepherd variations are medium to large sized dogs, with square-proportions.
The Belgian Shepherd Groenendael can be recognised by its distinct Black Coast.

The Belgian Shepherd Laekenois can be recognised bt its distinct wooly brown and white coat.

The Belgian Shepherd Malinois can be recognised by its short, brownish/yellow coat and its black ears that stick straight up. This variation of the breed resembles a smaller German Shepherd.

The Belgian Shepherd Tervuren can be recognised by its thick double coat, which is generally mahogany in colour with varying degrees of black overlay, including a black mask.

CHARACTERISTICS
The Belgian Shepherd dog breed are highly intelligent dogs, and are bred to be alert and sensitive to everything going on around them. They develop extremely strong relationships with their owners. This means that they need significant socialising when puppies.
