Hatched: 1st of April, 2021

The breed is included on the RBST‘s watchlist of traditional breeds of poultry.

Lays approx: 200 eggs per year each

We will have limited availability, so if you're at all interested, please get in touch. It will be a first come first serve basis.

Ducks (Females/Hens) - £40 each
Drakes (Males) - £25 each

Each duckling will be vent sexed. Though every effort is made to ensure the sex of the duck is accurate, I cannot guarantee this, as it's still very difficult to vent sex 100%. Even experts can get it wrong sometimes.

Having said that, this particular breed has a different bill colour for males and females, so at 5 weeks old onwards, we can be sure of the sex accuracy.

Single birds will only be sold, if you can demonstrate that you have an existing flock to add it to, otherwise, we will sell a minimum of two ducklings. They are a highly sociable animal and require social contact with other ducks. Please buy responsibly.

They will likely need heat until they're around 5 or so weeks old, although they'll self regulate their need for it. You'll see them using the heat less and less as they grow older.

Ponds: These ducks do not need a pond, HOWEVER, they do need a constant supply of clean drinking water and water to be able to preen with and more importantly, to dunk their heads into in order to clean out their nostrils/beak and eyes.

Poultry Buying Checklist

Before contacting or visiting the advertiser for this Ducks. Please make sure you have printed and read this checklist fully. Do NOT buy a pet from the advertiser unless you are happy that they follow all the advice on the list.

  • Do your research first
Getting a new pet is a massive commitment, so make sure you have researched the breed fully and have the time and commitment necessary to care for the pet. You can read our detailed Information guide about poultry for potential new poultry owners.
  • Confirm that the advertiser is genuine
You should verify this by arranging to visit the pet at the advertisers home, if they make excuses or try to ask for money or a deposit without seeing the pet, or if the advertiser attempts to deliver the pet or meet you at any other location than their own home, then please do not agree to this. NEVER send money online for any pet. Please read our article on avoiding potential scams.
If you are unsure that the advertiser is genuine, please report them to us.
  • Check the Health of the pet
It can be difficult for the average person to check if a pet is healthy or not, so if you decide to adopt or buy the pet, make sure that the seller agrees that you can return them within 48 hours for a full refund after taking the pet to a Vet of your choice for a health check. The seller should be willing to let you do this. If the pet has already been health checked by their own vet, make sure you get evidence for this in the form of vet records and phone their vet to confirm this.
