Description

Draven is a beautiful and loving Border Collie x Huntaway. He is nearly 5 years old, and has so much love to give. We only adopted Draven a few months ago, and have absolutely fallen in love with him. However, even though he seemed okay with our 11 month old daughter during all of our visits with him before he came home to us, it has become clear to us and our dog behaviourist that he is struggling a lot with her. Our daughter is now mobile and 'unpredictable' which seems to be stressing him out greatly. Since Draven has come to us, he has had his health checks and been microchipped. He is in great health and is a loving and happy boy! He wasn't neutered before he came to us and we haven't had him done since. He has been regularly given worm and flea treatment, but is still waiting for his vaccinations in the new year. He has been very well trained, but has regressed slightly since struggling with our daughter. He can still be quite excitable but is very eager and quick to learn with his training. He absolutely loves walks and being involved everywhere you go. When he came to us, he was very reactive to other dogs. Not in an aggressive way (he has never shown any sort of aggressive qualities), but excitable because he wants to say hi and play. He has shown great progress with acknowledging there are other dogs on his walks now, but doesn't always bark. He recently went on holiday with us to Center Parcs and he absolutely loved it. He is great in the car, as he will usually just lie down and go to sleep. He absolutely loves balls and food. He could still use some training with food but has learned 'wait' since coming to us. He really is such a great boy, and we love him dearly. We are so sad to have to let him go to a new family. However, we want to do what is best for him. He would be better with a family who does not have young kids. We would love to know more about the family he may go to, so please let us know what sort of environment he would be in and what sort of lives you lead :)
