Description
Approximately 11 CALICO Polar Blue Dwarf Cichlids.
I have bred these fish from my standard Polar Blue Cichlids.
A Calico Polar Blue Cichlid is not a recognized species, but rather a name often used to describe a hybrid cichlid, typically a Polar Blue Parrot Cichlid, that exhibits a calico or variegated color pattern.
Hybrid Origin:
Polar Blue Parrot Cichlids are not found in the wild and are believed to be a result of selective breeding, potentially involving Convict Cichlids and Blood Parrots.
Calico Pattern:
The "calico" aspect refers to the white or mottled patches that appear on the blue body of the fish, creating a unique and visually appealing pattern.
Size and Appearance:
They typically grow to about 3 inches and have a rounded body shape with a prominent forehead.
Temperament:
While generally peaceful, they can be territorial, especially during breeding, and may show aggression towards smaller or more timid tank mates.
Tank Requirements:
They need a spacious aquarium with plenty of hiding places, and are not suitable for small tanks or community tanks with very small fish.
