We are devastated to be giving up our border collie, Rocky but we have had to admit that we just aren't a good fit for him. Rocky needs a home with a big garden, he loves to run! And someone who has the time to train him and understands the needs of a border collie. He is exceptionally clever and picked up multiple tricks very quickly but he needs work on his obedience around distractions. He loves other dogs but this means his recall is close to non existent if he sees another dog. He needs some loose leash training as hes a bit of a puller and ideally, needs somewhere away from roads as he is car reactive.
Our main issue is that he is very over stimulated by our children and constantly barks at them to play to the point that they cant just hang out downstairs. For this reason, id recommend a child free home but I need to stress that there is ZERO aggression to children - he adores them. He just doesn't know how to regulate his excitement and it's exhausting. Im being extremely honest because I desperately want him to go to someone who genuinely knows what they're getting into and wants to spend the time he needs to turn him into the best friend I know he will be. It breaks my heart, but we just arent right for him and he needs more.
1 year old, not neutered as vet said to wait until at least 18 months so hes fully grown.
