Tank Size:
A minimum of 20 gallons is recommended for a pair, with 29 gallons being better for a community tank.

They are omnivorous and will accept a variety of foods including flakes, pellets, bloodworms, and brine shrimp.
Tank Mates:
They can be kept with other semi-aggressive Central American cichlids in a large enough aquarium, but caution is advised.
