Friendly hen looking for a new home in Cheltenham/Gloucestershire
We rescued 4 ex commercial (organic free range) chickens two weeks ago but unfortunately this one is being severely picked on and today we had to separate it from the group as the rest attacked it - she doesn’t currently have an injuries but the other chickens weren’t messing around and didn’t want to take the risk. The others had been stopping it from eating and it has been looked progressively sadder. Now we have separated it it is already started eating again and is more active. We have taken a lot of advice and sadly we feel this is the only way to move forward. She is currently in a large dog crate with food, water, grit and a cardboard box with lots of bedding but this is obviously not a long term solution. Please PM me if you think you might be able to offer her a home. I am happy to pay for a months worth of food or come to an alternative arrangement. She is 74 weeks old approx and had started laying as soon as she arrived with us
