DescriptionLittle Reena came into our rescue after being abandoned with a temporary fosterer with two old Bichons. She is a kennel club registered (very tiny) Frenchie (weighing only 7.8 kilos), is about 7 years old and is an absolute sweetheart. Reena is a very special little dog and, although not disabled in any way, she has clearly had some growth (birth) defects and has a very short body and rather barrelled chest. As communication with her original owner has not been limited, it has been difficult to get a full medical history, but she does have quite bad scarring on her head and on one side. As my vet was unsure as to the cause and as we didn’t have any medical history on her, Reena has had spinal x-rays and full blood works and although Reena's spine is severely deformed she is healthy in every other way. (She has now had a full dental, being spayed and is up to date with her vaccinations). All of these things just make Reena even more special and she is just like a little baby, who would let you love her all day. We do think she would fare better as an only dog (or with another very gentle dog) as she is such a special little girl and would rather be cuddled than play with the other dogs. She is house trained, crate trained and lead trained, as you’d expect from a dog that has been a pet all its life. Little Reena would be perfect for a home with older people and, whilst she could live with older children, we do think at this age in her life she would prefer a quieter home where she was the centre of attention.
If you think you have room in your heart and home for little Reena, please pop on to our website and complete our 'pre-adoption application form' (Link: https://www.savingandrehomingstrays.org/dog-application-form )
We acknowledge that insurance companies are unlikely to cover some healthcare needs that may arise as a result of Reena's known medical findings, and we are therefore open to discuss financial support for pre-authorised conditions that are outwith the scope of her insurance, if this is required.
(Please note a homecheck and adoption donation of £500 applies).
Thank you xx
