Description
I am looking to rehome my loving 2 year old Beagle/cocker spaniel cross. He's got bounds of energy, loves other dogs, but still needs some training on the lead as he pulls a lot. He's very eager to be trained. He's the most loving dog, and doesn't have an aggressive bone in his body - he was brought up with a toddler, and sees my niece (4 years old) a lot, and she adores him. He very much still acts/looks like a big puppy. He does suffer from some separation anxiety, although that has massively improved. He has been left by himself, with a ring camera, and whilst he starts by whining, he eventually settles down into his bed. A home where at least one person is in most of the day would suit him best. He always follows me around the house, wherever I go. He is very friendly with other dogs. He can be a bit OTT and overexcited when first meeting them, but he usually settles down (my dogsitter has a male castrated dog, and my dog has calmed down a lot with him). He loves playing and would get on well if there was another dog/s in the house. He could benefit from other training outside of that mentioned above (for example jumping up on people when he gets overly excited). Someone/a family with patience, with the time to invest to training, would be ideal. He would love an active home, with lots of walks. Looking for experienced homes only, please let me know your experience with dogs in your reply. Need someone who understands the costs involved and will be able to continue to pay for his pet insurance. He is health checked and up to date with vaccinations. I have not had him castrated yet, given mixed advice given his anxiety, but this may change before being rehomed. Unfortunately, my personal circumstances have changed, hence the advert. However, I am not in any rush to rehome him, and want the best possible home as he is very loved. Would be very happy to consider a trial period. If anything doesn't work, I will happily take him back.
