Max is an 8 year old border collie x GSD who is sadly looking for a new home. This has been an incredibly hard decision for us, however due to health reasons, we are no longer able to provide the home he needs. Max has been with us for 2 years and needs a very understanding home and family. He is a big softie and is very gentle with children in the home. He currently lives with two primary aged children who he adores. He is also good with younger children and babies who visit the house. At home, Max is the sweetest boy, he is fully house trained and thinks he is a lap dog. He loves cuddles and doesn’t like to sleep without human company. He can be left alone in the day. However, Max is a very nervous dog outside of the house. He is not an aggressive dog by nature, however he gets very scared if he is approached by other dogs and will bark, growl and snap. He will happily ignore other dogs on walks, but he gets very anxious. He has to be walked on a lead at all times and does not have good recall if scared. Max needs someone confident to walk him, as he can be reactive if approached and he is a big dog. Max has never bitten, but is protective and anxious. He does not like strangers outside of the home and acts protectively. Max has to be the only dog in the house. Max has so much love to give and is incredibly affectionate. He greets everyone at the door with his biggest happy wiggles, ideally he needs a home where someone can understand his nervousness and work with him outside of the home. He is not keen on exercise due to his nervousness outside, but would love playing in a garden.
