Hi everyone, my name is Zena!
My personality: I’m a beautiful 5-year-old German Shepherd who is a bouncy girl on a mission to find my perfect home!
I was previously very loved by my owner, who sadly fell ill and wasn’t able to care for me anymore. It’s been a big change for me coming into kennels, so I’m now desperately looking for a special place with lots of room to bounce and play, and humans who understand my energetic personality and needs. My favourite thing to do is play, I will run around for hours chasing balls and playing fetch! I can sometimes find the world around me overwhelming, so the Rain Rescue team is working on building my confidence on walks when passing new people, dogs, and traffic. I enjoy sniffing and exploring and will do anything for a treat.
The home I need: I’m looking for a home in a quieter area with less traffic or noise. I would need experienced owners, who are willing to continue my training as I still have lots to learn, however, the team here says that I am a smart girl, who has already accomplished so much in my training journey. I have a high prey drive, so I can’t live with any small furies or cats. I could potentially live in a home with an other dog of my size and temperament.
My new home would ideally have a secure garden with 6-foot fencing. When I first arrive at my new home, I would like my family to be around most of the time, but once I am settled, I should be ok left alone for a couple of hours. I’m looking for an adult-only home with patient and understanding owners, who would give me the time to settle into my new environment and allow me to blossom into the wonderful dog I am!
Things to know: I am currently undergoing muzzle training work and learning manners when I play (which I am smashing!) – the team will chat with you about this when you enquire.
