Description
Pumba and Timon are two 3-year-old castrated male Pennywell miniature pigs looking for a wonderful new home together. They are brothers and extremely closely bonded, so it is essential they stay together.
They are both incredibly friendly, affectionate and used to daily human interaction. They love attention, especially tummy rubs and scratches behind the ears and will happily come over to say hello. They have lovely personalities—Timon is the more confident “boss”, while Pumba is slightly more easygoing, and they balance each other perfectly.
Because Timon can be a bit dominant at feeding time, I split their food into separate portions to make sure they both get their fair share, which works very well for them.
They enjoy a wide variety of fruit and vegetables (with a particular love for corn on the cob!) and are not fussy eaters. They are in excellent health with no ongoing medical issues.
They love enrichment and currently have horse feeder balls, which keep them entertained and active—I will include these with them as they are a big favourite. They also love rooting around, exploring and, of course, a good mud wallow.
They really enjoy relaxing too—lying in the sun is one of their favourite things, especially as the weather gets warmer. In the summer, they often take their bedding out of their sheds and choose to sleep outside together.
They are currently kept in a large garden with plenty of space, shelters, hard standing and a wallow area. They are used to having room to roam and express their natural behaviours, so a secure outdoor setup with good fencing is essential.
As a bonus, they also produce excellent natural fertiliser, which is great for the garden!
Due to an increasingly hectic work schedule, I am no longer able to give them the time, care and attention they truly deserve. This has been a very difficult decision and I am looking to find them a safe, caring, and suitable home as soon as possible.
They would make fantastic companions for someone with experience of pigs, or someone committed to learning and providing them with the environment they need.
