Description

🐾🏠 HI, I’M NORA - I’M LOOKING FOR MY FOREVER HOME IN CORNWALL OR DEVON Hello lovely human ♥ My name is Nora and I’m hoping with all my heart that someone out there is looking for a girl just like me…I’ve been in foster for three whole months now. THREE. And guess what? Nobody has chosen me yet.I don’t quite understand it. My sister Nelly is already living her best life in Cornwall, and my foster sister Rosie is also off enjoying the good life in her new home… but me? Still waiting… Which is confusing, because I’m actually a pretty great dog. I’m super friendly with people and dogs, I love cats (yes, really!) and I’m bursting with youthful energy and enthusiasm for life. Rescue story: My sister Nelly and I were found as tiny puppies, alone, freezing cold and starving. Our mum never came back and we were very weak when help finally arrived. We were taken to safety and given warmth, food and care to help us survive. We were so cold, hungry and scared. We made it! And Paws2Freedom with the dedicated help of Bojan the shelter owner who drove a loooong way to the special place, we were moved us to a calm boarding home where we could recover from everything we’d been through. I’m now in the UK - safe, loved and learning how to be a confident young dog, I just need the chance to continue that journey in a forever home. Name: Nora (that’s me! 🐶) Breed: I’m a mixed breed, and definitely a hound mix! If my sister’s DNA test is anything to go by, I’m part Segugio Italiano mixed with lots of other exciting things... herding breeds, Middle ******************n breeds and a splash of terrier. Basically… I am very interesting, very fun and very clever. 😎 Size: Small–medium (approx. 40cm at the shoulder) Sex: Female Age: 1 year (born 01.09.2024) Neutered: Yes Vaccinated: Yes Microchipped: Yes Child friendly: Children 6+ who are kind, gentle and respectful Dog friendly: Yes – I love other dogs! I would really enjoy living with another dog who can cope with my high energy and zest for play. I’m very playful and can be full-on, so my doggy companion would need to enjoy interaction and rough-and-tumble fun. Cat friendly: Yes – I’ve shown no issues with cats while I was in Bosnia and when I met a cat in home here in the UK, when I visited for an afternoon, all I did was wag my tail at the elegant feline. I would love a home with direct access to a good-sized garden where I can zoom around and play between walks. And just so you know… I’m also a great size. Not really small, but not big either. Think a large Whippet with long legs, elegant, sporty and perfect for adventures. 🐾 I’m learning lots of things in foster. I sleep in my crate at night (I’m being very good about it), although if it were up to me I would prefer to be close to my humans all the time. I’ve even been left alone once so far and the camera caught me being very sensible, happily chewing my special treat bone for the two hours I was by myself. I also love travelling in my foster parents’ camper van. When it’s time to go I happily jump straight into my travel crate because it usually means an adventure is coming! 🚐🐾 I can be a little timid in new situations, but I really do try to be brave and give everything a go. I’ve been having lots of adventures lately. I went to the river and met some geese. They quacked at me very loudly and I may have briefly scared myself… but I tried to pretend I was very brave. 😅 Then I went to the beach for the very first time! I was much braver there and even splashed through the water, which is pretty amazing for a first visit 🌊🐾 One of my favourite places is the woods. I love sniffing all the amazing smells and keeping a very careful eye out for squirrels 🐿️ I’m still learning though and I’ll need continued training so my recall becomes more reliable before I can be trusted off lead everywhere. I also love joining my foster parents on social visits to the local dog-friendly pub. I get to meet lots of dogs and people of all ages and I’m always very happy to say hello. Lots of attention? Yes please!🐶 With other dogs, I can sometimes be a bit over-enthusiastic when I want to play. A few dogs have told me “NO” when I got a bit too excited and I listen and back off without making a fuss. I’m still young and learning my manners, but I really do try. Really though, I’m the sort of girl who loves being part of family life, so a home where someone is around most of the time would be perfect for me. I love children, but older ones who are used to dogs are a better fit for me. I would love a doggy companion with the same zest for life and play as me… but I could also live as an only dog in the right home. In fact, I’m currently practising being an only dog in my foster home and doing very well. I just need a lot of interaction and play so that I don’t get bored. I also like to entertain myself by running around like a loon in the garden or chewing my favourite chew or Kong. I have a big album on Facebook with lots more photos and videos of me and my life. You can see it here: https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?vanity=paws2freedom&set=a. ************ So here I am… a friendly, funny and adventurous young dog, still waiting for my people. Maybe they just haven’t found me yet. 🏡 Could you be my forever home? If you think you could offer me the guidance, stimulation and love I need, please apply via my page here: https://paws2freedom.org/nora/ Before applying, my rescue asks that you read this important settling-in guide to help dogs like me adjust: https://paws2freedom.org/new-rescue-dog-faqs/ 🐾 Thank you for reading my story. I’ve come so far and now I just need someone to say, “Yes, Nora - come home.” Love and nose boops, Nora 💖🐶🐾 x
