💔 Update On Leia
Leia arrived in the UK in June 2025 and came straight into foster care, where she quickly stole hearts. She was adopted in November and we truly believed she had found her forever. Sadly, her adopter has been involved in a serious accident, broken his bones, and was admitted to hospital. He was no longer physically able to care for her. With friends and neighbours stepping in to help, the adopter made the difficult and selfless decision to return Leia so she could have the full life she deserves.
Leia has done nothing wrong. She is now back in foster and once again looking for the stable, loving home she has been waiting for.
🐾 Meet Leia
Leia is now around 5.5 years old, an upper-medium German Shepherd cross with a big presence and an even bigger heart. She is deeply people-focused, affectionate, and thrives on companionship. She greets friendly visitors enthusiastically and loves being part of the action.

💔 Rescue Story
Leia was rescued in Ukraine after she and her companion were abandoned outside a rural shop. The shop owner had arranged for them to be poisoned, but a kind worker intervened and contacted rescuers just in time. Leia’s life was spared, and she travelled to the UK to begin again. She has overcome so much and continues to meet life with loyalty and love.

"She is the most lovable 🥰 excitable girl who is always happy to see friends and family. Leia has been comfortable being left for short periods and settles well in the home. 😊
Leia enjoys her walks and can be a strong girl on the lead. Leia is reactive to squirrels 🐿️ and cats 🐈 but will happily walk alongside other dogs if invited — she’s friendly on walks and loves a stop-and-chat with a canine friend. Same time, she would be best as an only dog in the home, as she likes all of the attention and prefers not to share her home space with other dogs. Leia would also do best with adult home or older children 13+ who understand her playful and excitable nature.
Her favourite things are toys and long-lasting chews, and she would love a home where she can continue to thrive, be adored and truly be part of the family.
She enjoys learning new things and loves to please her humans, making her very trainable. With patience and consistency, Leia is eager to learn and thrive, and she will happily show off her clever, loyal, and affectionate nature."
Leia is good in the home and settles well. She enjoys her walks and benefits from daily physical activity. She is strong and enthusiastic, so she needs someone confident who can guide her calmly.
She is currently fed dry food, enjoys long-lasting treats, and absolutely loves squeaky toys. She travels well in the car and adapts nicely to routine.
Because of her size and energy, Leia needs a confident owner who can provide structure and management, and consistent daily exercise along with mental enrichment. She has so much potential and genuinely wants to please.

Leia would be happiest in not busy environment, a house with private secure garden and as the only dog in a home where she can receive full attention and companionship. She needs an experienced, confident owner who enjoys walking, training, and including their dog in daily life. Stability, time, and structure will allow her to truly thrive.
