Description
We have made the very difficult decision to rehome our lovely Pineapple Green-cheek Conure, Rio, as our long working hours no longer allow us to give the attention she deserves.
Rio is 4 years old, close-ringed for age verification, healthy, and fully tame. She loves being involved in everyday life — happily sitting on your shoulder, exploring the house, helping with chores, and enjoying evening cuddles.
⚠️ Gender has not been DNA tested. We refer to Rio as she, but Rio may equally be male.
Rio has a wonderful personality and is not a destructive or excessively noisy bird. She does tend to bond more strongly with men — male visitors quickly become her friends and she happily sits on their shoulders. She can initially be cautious with some females and may display typical conure behaviour such as posturing or occasional beak warnings. With patience, she does build trust and is now affectionate with my partner, often playing with her hair.

Rio dislikes spending long periods confined to a cage and thrives with lots of out-of-cage time, so an ideal home would be someone who:
• works from home or spends most of the day at home, or
• already keeps parrots and could potentially offer companionship.
Rio receives a fresh daily diet including vegetables, fruits, sprouts, and microgreens alongside quality parrot food.
