Description
Magic (female - black) and Merlin (male - black with white bib) are an approx 6-8month old sibling pair. They came in to rescue with their mum Ember a few weeks ago after a pretty rubbish start to life, having been kept in one room and neglected. They had fleas, and were skinny, scared and overwhelmed.
Since being with us Magic & Merlin have been neutered, started vaccines, chipped, and of course wormed and de-flead. They have settled in really well in their foster home, where after a few days spent hiding, they have started to really enjoy getting fuss, especially tummy rubs. They now come out when their fosterer comes in and ask for attention. They are also enjoying good quality food, and lots of toys. Both of them love catnip toys and will roll around on the floor with them, meowing. Merlin is always trying to hunt flies and spiders so will likely be good for pest control! They are vocal with one another and with their fosterer. Magic and Merlin are very bonded and take comfort in one another, usually choosing to squeeze into one bed together. They have come a long way in just a few weeks and are already a gorgeous, affectionate, playful and gentle pair of cats but they will be looking for adopters who understand that they’ve had a rough start to life and that they will likely take a step back in confidence when first adopted to a new home. They need patience, consistency and a calm environment, and if this is provided we have no doubt that they will make loving, affectionate and happy companions - they are still so young and have so much love to give, they just need to feel safe enough to show it!
Magic and Merlin are in foster in Reading.
Rehoming criteria:
- Adopters with some experience of owning cats
- No dogs
- No other cats
- Can live with children approx 14yrs+
- Will need outdoor access to a garden
- Can be left half a working day
The minimum adoption fee is £185 per cat which includes:
- Neutering
- Microchip (there is a small fee to register/ transfer ownership)
- At least the first vaccination
- Up to date flea and worming
- A Pet Remedy new home kit
- 5 weeks free insurance with Agria
- A blanket for a familiar smell
- Ongoing advice and support
