🔄 Update
Gita arrived in the UK last week and went into a trial home. Sadly, after three days it became clear that she is not comfortable living with a very small, older resident dog.
She appears unsure around the other dog and so defensive and is noticeably more relaxed when they are separated. The family have tried to manage the situation, but it has become difficult and stressful for both dogs and people.
They are now struggling to keep the dogs apart all the time, while also separating the humans so that someone can be with each dog, and they are asking for a new foster or foster-to-adopt home for Gita as soon as possible.
It is also important to say that Gita has only been in the UK a matter of days. She is still at the very beginning of decompression and settlement, after a long journey, separation from her sister and a complete change of life. She lifed surrounded by other dogs all her little life, but has not had time yet to properly relax, understand her new routine, or show her full self.
Gita now urgently needs a new foster or foster-to-adopt home where she can properly settle.

• SPAYED/NEUTERED: Yes
• CHARACTER: Gentle • Affectionate • Playful • Intelligent • Inquisitive
• DOGS: always lived with other dogs, will better suit friendly, not pushy, compatible match
• CATS: Tolerates and ignores
• CHILDREN: Good with calm, patient children 8+
💔 Background / Surrender Story
Gita was evacuated as a tiny puppy from Kupiansk, a town devastated by war. She was found abandoned at just a few weeks old in a ruined house where no puppy should have been.
She survived because someone cared — and since then she has held onto her loving, open-hearted nature. She is not traumatised by war- she was too young and since just 7 weeks old knows only love and kindness.
🐕 More About Gita
Gita has only been in the UK a few days and is still in early decompression, but even in this short time she has shown what a lovely little dog she is.
This is what her family says about her after having her 3 days:
“Gita is a gentle little girl who enjoys cuddles and attention from her humans! She enjoys being outside and can be a little boisterous at play but will generally calm down with direction and encouragement. She is intelligent and responds well to clear commands but needs work on this, she is still very young! She’s bright, inquisitive, bouncy at times but when feeling confident and secure tucks up well in a cosy bed. She is a little anxious when left alone for any time, which is very understandable given how recently her whole life changed. With reassurance and routine, she is already starting to settle more quickly.
She will make a lovely pet if treated with kindness, reassurance, routine and above all love”
🏡 Ideal Home
Gita needs a home where she can properly decompress and build confidence in a new environment at her own pace.
She will fit good with a well-matched, friendly calm companion of her size (not small or elderly), with slow mindful introductions and kind guidance.
A home that can offer kindness, routine, patience and time will allow her to show her true, lovely personality.
❤️ Gita is a sweet, gentle young girl who simply hasn’t had time yet. Give her space, patience and love — and she will become a truly wonderful companion.
🩺 Health Information
Gita has been vet checked on arrival in the UK. A mild heart murmur was noted — currently asymptomatic, likely related to growth, and does not require treatment. She is active, playful and lives a normal life, with monitoring advised.
She is spayed, vaccinated and microchipped. All dogs are C.Brucella tested before travel (owners receive a licensed laboratory test certificate).
