It is with a very heavy heart that we are looking for a new home for our much-loved cat, Toby.
Toby is around 1 year old and is a Bengal cross. He had a difficult start in life, having been found abandoned at approximately 5 weeks old, and has been in our care since he was around 6–7 weeks. He is a striking, intelligent cat with lots of character.
Toby is fully vaccinated, microchipped, neutered, and fully up to date with flea and worm treatments. He has always received the very best care and attention.
However, Toby does have behavioural challenges. He can be anxious and reactive, which can present as hissing, scratching, or biting, particularly when he feels overwhelmed. For this reason, he will need an experienced owner who understands cat behaviour and is willing to give him the time, space, and patience he needs to feel safe and build trust.
Toby would be best suited to:
* An adult-only home (no children)
* A calm, quiet environment
* An experienced cat owner, ideally familiar with Bengal or high-energy breeds
* A home where he can have space and not be handled unless he initiates it
This decision has not been made lightly. We now have an 8-month-old baby, and after a recent incident, we have had to prioritise safety while recognising that Toby’s needs would be better met in a different environment.
We are absolutely committed to finding Toby the right home and will take great care in selecting a suitable match. We are more than happy to answer questions and would like to know about the home you can offer.
A sensible adoption fee applies to ensure a genuine and responsible home.
