Description
‘Vienna’ Latin for ‘white settlement’ well
she’s certainly snowy coloured and she’d
like a settlement to call her own albeit a
small one- senior lass of around 10yrs ©
A little bit about me in the welfares words
Gorgeous (and she is most definitely that)
‘Vienna’ a larger lass who is desperate to.
know retirement & sleep on a comfy bed of
her own (or yours) rather than on concrete.
This ambling & docile beauty that also
possesses a spirited & joyful demeanour is
small in her presence because size is more
than a measurement. We’ve had Jack
Russell’s that have needed greater input &
space than this easy going marsh mellow.
Let’s look a little closer at why Vienna
deserves to be chosen and desperately
needs to be. She’s never been cherished.
Can you imagine what that feels like to go
through an entire decade of existence being
considered as irrelevant? Few of us have
endured that indifference & neglect and
bounced through it to be the friendly &
loving lump that she is. The resolve of this
majestic & affectionate golden oldie is to be
admired though it should also be rewarded.
She must have an offer from a special
person- is that you? Once abandoned, after
she gave all her ‘life’ to her abuser, she
ended up in a government shelter.
It may look presentable though the reality is
that it exercises policies that will see her
dying alone without ever knowing what it is
to be loved. She remains a dog at risk.
Vienna is vulnerable to the practices that
fate brought her to. It’s not her fault & she
shouldn’t suffer because of it. That’s why
the charity steps in to help dogs just like
her that are overlooked & find animal loving
homes for them. She gets on with other dogs including Fernada also a larger lass
with one eye (currently available).
Vienna is adaptable - she just wants to be
chosen and in return will be the hearth of
your home. She will be suited to anything
from one person to a bigger & busier
household. She’s playful and can assert
herself to a matriarch kind of position which
we expect if they are 10yrs old and others
can learn from her. She’s not a puller on
walks as seen and wants to be around you
so recall and being present is natural for
her. If you’re in your greater years like her
you can’t trip up over her and can put a
harness on and stroke her back without
bending down a lot. If you’re younger she’ll
also fit in as seniors are not just for the
senior humans :)
Vienna doesn’t need the fast lane or the one
you stand still in. You need each other and
can find purpose and keep active together.
Vienna’s promotional captions:-
‘Ambling & sedate adoptions. Big &
energetic? No. Big dogs don’t drag you
through life. Dispel the misconceptions &
adopt a large marshmallow dog today.’
‘Release the puppy within’ adoptions- don’t
rule out the senior dogs- they can surprise
you. It’s their first home & that can give
them a verve for life & release the puppy
within. Dispel the misconceptions & choose
a Golden Oldie today.
What the golden oldies can offer
When someone comes to take a younger
dog these dogs are at the back of the cage
dreaming about a fire to warm them,
hearing a soft voice talking to them rather
than to a puppy. When the people walk
away and their left there again in their
loneliness they’re dreaming about their
special person taking them, to care for
them in their dotage- kindness, laughter,
comfort and above all company.
They’re left there month after month and they are so lonely just like elderly people
who are on their own.
Have you thought about what Vienna can
give you?
Golden oldies do not require the day to day
commitment of some dogs. If you’re at work
they will curl up and wait for you to come
home. If you’re there all day their company
is invaluable, like a Sun-ray in the house.
