💔 Sometimes life changes in ways we never expect. Dougie has been part of the same family since he was just 8 weeks old. Sadly, changing family circumstances now mean they can no longer give him the time and life he deserves, and with heavy hearts they have asked us to help find him a new beginning.

Dougie is an almost 4-year-old Labrador cross, smaller than a typical Labrador, with a sweet nature, playful personality and a heart full of love.

💔 Surrender Story
Dougie has known only one family all his life.
Recently, they had to rehome their other dog with family friends, but sadly they couldn't take Dougie too. Combined with significant changes in the family's circumstances, the decision has been made to ask us to find him a home where he'll once again have the time, companionship and attention he deserves.
🐾 More About Dougie
Dougie is described as a sweet, loving boy who simply enjoys life. He loves to play, especially tug games, and anything tough enough to survive his enthusiastic chewing! Soft toys don't usually last long.
He's very food-motivated, making him a great candidate for further training. He already knows several commands, including sit, paw, spin and sometimes even roll over.
Dougie enjoys his walks. He can pull a little when excited, and overall he is a lovely companion to be out and about with.
He has lived with another dog for the past four years and has always been friendly with other dogs. In fact, his family feel he would really enjoy having a canine companion who actually wants to play with him.
He is fully house-trained, sleeps happily in his crate or on the floor, and has coped well with being left for a couple of hours when necessary.
Around people, Dougie can be a little shy at first, but once you show him kindness, he quickly warms up and becomes your friend.
🏡 Ideal Home
Dougie would love an active family who have plenty of time for walks, games and adventures. A secure garden would be wonderful, and another friendly, playful dog would be a huge bonus—but isn't essential if his people are happy to make him part of everyday family life.
Most of all, Dougie is looking for a family who'll give him the time, love and companionship he deserves.
💞 Nearly four years ago, Dougie found his first family. Now he needs someone to help write the next chapter of his life. We know there's another wonderful family out there waiting to fall in love with this lovely boy. 💙
