Description
KOKO, Originated from spain and was rescued in 2023. "History and passport is available to view"
He has lived in lancashire in a wonderful loving home since. He has received the most loving care, attention and training, but unfortunately the man who rescued him became very ill. I am a labrador lover and agreed to home Koko, with my other 2 dogs which are shown in the images.
We agreed to take Koko for all the right reasons, we had long walks, visit days and sleep overs before agreeing to take him. Not long after adoption, we had an incident where koko chased after a deer in the woods, this seems to be his downside but easily managed.
The reason I am now looking to re-home him, is because over the last few weeks we have had an increased number of incidents where Koko has faught and hurt my other 2 dogs.
Initially it was all fine, but with play with a ball or toy, Koko has started to become possessive and displays agression to the other dogs whilst protecting the ball, food or toy.
We have been managing feeding and play, but Koko destroyed a soft squeaky toy and left parts inside the huge dog bed we have whilst unsupervised and my other lab simply attempted to get into the bed, when Koko became agressive. I can only assume it was because of possessivness of the toy remains.
Koko was to be a welcome addition to our family, but his possessive nature is making me too uncomfortable for the safety and well being of my other dogs.
Koko, is the most loving, well behaved dog, who is a dream 95% of the time. He is good with other dogs and children, but I feel it is safer for him to be homed as a lone animal and older children only. I know too little about his past and how dominant this growing possessivness is, and so I am rehoming and will only consider people who can demonstrate understanding, patience and ability to manage this unusual behaviour.
