She is an absolute cuddle bug who loves nothing more than rubbing up against you like a giant cat, leaning her heavy head into your lap, and getting gently tickled right behind her ears. 🥰 She is a sweet, gentle soul who loves children and has been completely loving and safe around grandchildren as young as 4 and 7. 👧👦
At home, she is the ultimate good girl. 🏡 She is fully house-trained, knows her bedtime routine perfectly, and will sit so politely on command to wait for her favorite treats. 🦴 She sleeps soundly right through the night without a single accident. When she sees her walking harness, her whole body wiggles with pure joy, and she travels like an absolute angel in the car, buckled into her seatbelt, ready for the next adventure. 🚗💨 Her absolute favorite things in life are simple: a joyful roll in the green grass, a good belly rub, a gentle brushing session, and carrying around her beloved stuffed dinosaur toy. 🦕💚 Every single evening, she happily winds down with her favorite chew before drifting off to sleep, dreaming of a family to call her own. 💤
Because of the trauma she survived, the world can still feel a bit loud and overwhelming for Rita sometimes, and she can experience sensory overload. 🌍⚡ For this reason, she needs a true hero—an experienced dog owner who understands how to handle a dog with a heavy past.
Rita is a strong, powerful girl. When she is out on walks and gets startled by unfamiliar noises, or when another dog passes by, her instinct is to pull hard on her lead. She needs an owner with the physical strength and confidence to guide her through these moments using her double-lead system. 🐕🦺 Because she has missed out on so many years of affection, she would love nothing more than to be your one and only pet where she can soak up 100% of your devotion. Alternatively, she could share her space with a dog of her equal size, provided their boundaries and food are managed safely, as she can be protective over her treats. A home with high, secure fencing is also a must, as she likes to bark at cats and passing dogs through the fence to guard her safe space. 🚫🐈

Hope 4 Paws UK & Spain is a dog home-finding and rescue support team. We are not a kennel, sanctuary, or boarding facility, and we do not board dogs. Dogs are in foster care or temporary accommodation until suitable homes are found.
We work with dogs from the UK and various EU countries, often alongside partner rescuers. As these are rescue dogs, full background information is not always available. We always share everything we know, but histories may be limited or incomplete.
By adopting or fostering through Hope 4 Paws UK & Spain, you acknowledge and accept the following:
General Information & Liability
A dog’s age, breed, health, behaviour, and history may be estimated or unknown
Hope 4 Paws UK & Spain cannot be held liable for:
Known or unknown medical or health conditions
Behavioural issues, including fear, anxiety, reactivity, or biting
Damage to property, belongings, people, or other animals
Any undisclosed history due to lack of available information
All dogs are placed in good faith, and responsibility transfers to the adopter at the point of handover.
If a Dog Is Deemed Unsuitable
If at any point an adopted dog is considered unsuitable for your home:
Hope 4 Paws UK & Spain must be informed immediately
You are not permitted to:
Rehome the dog yourself
Sell, ******************, or transfer ownership
Euthanise the dog
without the written consent of Hope 4 Paws UK & Spain
Training & Adjustment Period
Adopters are required to seek appropriate training or behavioural support at their own cost before giving up an adopted dog
A minimum settling period of 3 months must be given before the rescue will consider rehoming the dog, unless otherwise agreed
Rescue dogs require time to decompress, settle, and adjust to their new environment, and this period is considered essential.
Emergency Situations
If your circumstances become urgent or exceptional, Hope 4 Paws UK & Spain can assist in arranging emergency boarding, at the adopter’s own cost, subject to availability
EU Dogs & Transport Fees
For dogs travelling from the EU:
No adoption fee is charged
A transport fee of £395 applies:
£100 payable when transport is booked
£295 payable when the dog is travelling
This fee is non-refundable once transport is booked.
