Poppy is my amazing 16.1hh 8 year old thoroughbred mare. I have owned Poppy for 4 years and all of her history is known. This is a very heartbreaking sale so please no tyre kickers or time wasters. Only reason for sale is I am struggling to keep all 3 of my horses in work and in a job and Poppy spends more time out than being ridden and it’s just not fair on her. Poppy is perfect in every way shape and form and will do anything asked of her. She is easy to handle on the ground and is good to load/travel/ties up patiently etc. She is an all around easy little horse. Poppy hacks alone and in company no questions asked. She’ll hack the motorway if she was asked to! Never nappy or silly. She’s a mare that really enjoys her work. Perfect in all sorts of traffic. Poppy works neatly in a school and loves to jump but this has been inconsistent for the last year or so as hunted most the season and just hasn’t done much else. She is a very easy horse on the field, has hunted 3 seasons with myself. Jumps everything she is pointed at but wouldn’t say she’d suit large country hunting as loses her confidence with bigger fences/hedges. Poppy has been XC training, been to regular clinics flat/pole/jump. When fit she moves and schools well. Will jump up to about a metre happily when she is worked and ridden consistently she absolutely flies around a course of fences and is a machine for XC but again loses her confidence with larger fences. This is not her fault, I just haven’t really gotten around to getting her to the next level as I don’t jump higher than she is comfortable with. She would grow in confidence with the right rider and consistency she certainly has the ability for it! Poppy has no vices or injuries. Clean legs and very well built. Her only quirk is sometimes when she is excited she can be a fidget to get on (when hunting/fun rides etc). Fine to get on from ground etc. Never bucked/reared/bolted. Very soft in the mouth. My novice partner hunted her this season and she was a saint for him. Poppy would suit anything from confident novice up to an experienced rider looking for an easy horse oozing talent. Open to any viewings/vettings. Ideal mother/daughter share. Based in Llandeilo, transport and tack available at separate negotiations. £3500
