This sweet baby dachshund, who tragically lost his owner suddenly and spent dark days forgotten in a cage, is now facing an incredibly uncertain future after failing his rescue assessment due to overwhelming fear When he first arrived, he was trembling constantly; when a barking dog spooked him, he bolted, and out of pure terror, he snapped at a staff member trying to catch him—a single, desperate mistake that has now legally branded him unrehomeable through standard channels. Our rescue is already at breaking point, financially and physically drained by the severe UK rescue crisis, and we are already stretched to our limit caring for two large, permanent residents who cannot be rehomed. This kennel environment is completely wrong for a fragile puppy, since being safe with us, he has come on leaps and bounds, completely stopping his shaking and showing our team what an incredibly gentle, loving, and affectionate boy he truly is. 🙏 We are praying for a miracle from a compassionate person with breed experience, a behaviourist, or an independent rescuer who can offer him a lifeline ensuring this innocent baby lives his life in a warm home rather than a cold kennel. He is dog friendly, only barks if a stranger comes in and he settles quickly. Takes treats gently, great on lead no pulling no barking at passing dogs, he has so many good qualities but one instant of fear has left his fate unknown We have provided all vet care: Health check, microchip, vaccines, flea, worm & his castration. There is also no adoption fee. He is a beautiful pedigree dapple. He is still a baby he just needs the right person. Must be experienced/qualified Checks apply

Cons

Not the best choice for first time owners because Dachshunds often have a mind of their own
Care must be taken with puppies because they must not be allowed to jump up or down from anywhere because it could damage their backs and joints
They are prone to putting on too much weight if not given enough daily exercise
The breed is known to suffer from quite a few health concerns so vet bills can be high and why pet insurance is so important for anyone owning a Dachshund
