Description
Meet Romulus – A Big Heart Looking for the Right Home
Romulus is a 5-year-old Carolina dog who came to the UK from Romania in 2020. He’s been much-loved in his current home, but he needs a new start with a family who can give him the time, space and consistency he deserves.
Romulus is a bright, affectionate boy who thrives on fuss and interaction. He loves nothing more than a good run around the garden or chasing after toys (though he hasn’t quite mastered the art of bringing them back!). Once he’s had his exercise, he’s happy to curl up for a nap before he’s ready to go again.
He’s fully house-trained, neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. Romulus knows the basics - sit, stay, down, though he can be a little selective about following through. He responds best with structure and routine, and will need an owner who can be consistent with his training and daily rhythm. This is something his current family, with young children and busy schedules, can’t provide as much as he needs.
Romulus can be an anxious soul and is generally unsettled around other animals. However, he currently lives with another dog whom he has known since puppyhood, and with slow, careful introductions that bond has worked well. This shows that with patience and the right handling, Romulus can build positive relationships, though he will be happiest as the only pet in most homes.
He’s fine around children he knows, but his boisterous play and need for plenty of focused attention mean he’ll do best in an adult-only home.
Romulus is high-energy and would suit an active person or couple with access to secure outdoor space. In the right environment, with patience and consistency, he’ll repay you with loyalty, intelligence, and endless affection.
If you’re looking for a companion who will make you laugh, keep you moving, and give you unconditional love, Romulus could be the one for you.
