It is with a very heavy heart that I am looking to find a new, loving home for Ruby, my beautiful 2-year-old female working Cocker Spaniel. This is an incredibly difficult decision, and one I have not made lightly. Due to a change in my living circumstances and an upcoming house move, unfortunately Ruby is no longer able to come with me. Ruby is a gorgeous dark brown working Cocker with a huge personality. She is affectionate, loving and very loyal once she gets to know you. She loves being with her person, going for walks, exploring and having lots of attention. She is an intelligent girl who enjoys training and having a job to do, as you would expect from a working Cocker. Ruby is a rescue and has come a long way since coming into my care. She can be nervous and overwhelmed in certain situations, particularly around unfamiliar people and dogs when she is on lead, so she needs an understanding owner who is willing to give her time, patience and continued training. She can be reactive when she is stressed or frustrated, but she is much more relaxed and happy when given space and introduced to things calmly and appropriately. She is fantastic when she is able to run and socialise appropriately off lead and absolutely loves having the freedom to explore. She would ideally suit someone who understands working Cockers and is prepared to continue building her confidence and working on her training. A few important details: Ruby is currently not neutered. Her most recent season ended at the end of August 2026, so any potential owner would need to be aware of this and make their own arrangements regarding neutering with their vet when appropriate. Ruby is looking for a home where she can be treated as part of the family and where someone has the time and patience to give her the attention, exercise, structure and affection she deserves. I would ideally like someone with experience of dogs, particularly working breeds, who understands that she may need some time to settle and trust a new person. This is not a decision I want to make, and I will be extremely careful about where Ruby goes. I am much more interested in finding the right person and the right environment for her than finding a home quickly. Ruby deserves a wonderful forever home where she will be loved completely, and I would love to keep in touch with whoever she goes to and receive updates about her. Serious enquiries only, please.
