Two fully hand-reared, exceptionally tame cockatiels – £400 for the pair.
After a great deal of thought and due to a change in personal circumstances, I am looking for an exceptional new home for my two beautiful, beloved cockatiels, Ziggy and CeeCee.
They are siblings, approximately two years old, and have always lived together. They must remain together and will not be separated.
Both were hand-reared and are exceptionally tame companion birds. They are extremely people-orientated, happily step up, sit on shoulders and actively seek out human company and attention.
One is particularly vocal and entertaining. He whistles If You’re Happy and You Know It and says “What ya doin’?” Both birds also love hearing the McDonald’s “I’m Lovin’ It” theme tune being played.
Mating behaviour has been observed, so they must not be bred, provided with a nest box or allowed to hatch any eggs. They are companion birds only and will not be sold for breeding.
This is a reluctant decision, but they need more regular interaction and out-of-cage time than I can comfortably provide. I also have asthma, and the considerable dust naturally produced by cockatiels is becoming increasingly unsuitable for me.
The advertised price of £400 is for both birds together.
Their cages and extensive play equipment are also available:
• Very large main cage with natural perches and toys: £200
• Large wheeled wooden play station and hanging play equipment: £80
• Smaller holiday/caravan cage with perches and toys: £40
• Both birds and the complete setup: £650
The smaller cage has been used when I have taken them to my caravan. It provides them with a familiar setup while away and is also useful as a temporary holiday cage.
Anyone wanting the birds without their current main cage must already have a suitably large and safe setup, and I will ask to see photographs.
The birds’ new owner will have first refusal on all equipment. The cages and play equipment will only be sold separately once Ziggy and CeeCee have a confirmed perfect forever home.
The main cage and play equipment are substantial, so a suitable vehicle will be required if purchasing the complete package. Collection from the Wirral.
The right home is much more important than a quick sale. An experienced cockatiel or parrot home is preferred, and I will ask about your experience, other pets, daily routine and the amount of safe out-of-cage time you can offer.
