This is a heartbreaking sale so please consider the care, patience and time they need before messaging.
We’re looking for a new home for our pair of Quaker parrots. Green male (DNA tested) and we believe the blue is female from the behaviours we’ve seen (not confirmed or proven but they like to build a nest and are showing mating behaviour). We believe they’re both around 5 years old and are unrelated. They both have leg rings. As you can see from the photos, they’re bonded and do everything together so they must stay together! The green male is more confident around familiar people and will land on your shoulder every now and then but the female is very timid and scared. Green boy is such a character! He loves a shower and will take treats from your hand. He does like to bite (and it hurts!!) whenever he has the chance which will take lots of training if you want him to become hand tame. He’s starting to attempt to copy sounds but neither are talking yet. They’re both healthy birds and have been well cared for.
Quakers are loud! They scream when they’re unhappy and are also noisy when they’re happy! They’re territorial and protect their cage when they’re in it so care needs to be taken when changing their food and water. They’re amazing and fascinating little birds but I’d definitely recommend doing lots of research before adding them to your family!
They would make great aviary birds which would probably suit the female better with her being very timid but they can also live indoors in a good sized cage like they have with us. They’ve also had access to an outdoor aviary.
We’re happy to discuss a price just for the birds or for the birds with their whole set up (cage with stand, perches, bowls, toys, food, play stand, etc. A good home is a priority ❤️
I’m happy to answer any questions.
