Description

We are very sad to be having to rehome Oona. We took Oona in after supporting with the capture, treatment and neutering of a feral colony who moved into our garden. Oona was the smallest and was rejected by her mother and colony so it was advised we rehome her. Her approximate date of birth is May 2024, making her around 2.5 years old now. In the beginning, working on her socialisation and confidence took a while but she has made amazing progress, she adores other cats so would ideally go to a home with another cat who would be open to looking after her, she loves to snuggle, chase, groom and play with her brothers. While she is the sweetest kitty who has never shown any type of aggression, and would often sit and sleep with my daughter (who is now 2.5 years), and tolerate her pets, Oona is best suited to a home with no babies/toddlers, only older children who understand boundaries and the importance of quiet time, as Oona can be frightened by crying/shouting and chasing. She loves finding the highest spot in the house and watching everyone below her, she loves her cat trees and sleeping in her egg. She loves treats and is very food motivated, which we have used to support in training her. She can sit and give paw on command. She has never had any issues with the litter box and is very gentle (unlike my boys who fling the litter everywhere when covering up their business). She does not jump on counters/the table and will not try to take food when you are eating, she will sit beside you patiently with her big eyes until you give in and offer her a bite. She has never scratched any furniture, using only her scratching posts. Oona is a cat that requieres a lot of love, patience and understanding and must be given time to settle in and allowed to interact on her own terms but she will be the sweetest, most affectionate kitty you’ll ever have. Since we have taken her in, she has been an indoor only cat and does not show a keen interest in going outside anyway but will happily sit in the window and watch the outside for ages, she loves watching the birds especially. She has been Spayed, chipped, vaccinated (last vaccine 16/2/26), fleed and wormed monthly and health checked every 6 months as she is on a preventative health plan. She is currently fed a high quality canned cat food that contains high meat content, no cereals, unnecessary additives or sugars and I would love for her to continue to receive a high quality diet if possible. She has kibble/dry food as a treat or if we will be out for a while but does not have dry food as her main diet (again this is completely grain free - i only mention this as she has never eaten the cheaper foods with filler such as sugars, cereals and grains due to one of my cats being allergic, so unsure how she would react with that). Any questions please message, you are more than welcome, and encouraged, to meet her before committing to give her a forever home. I am open to the fee amount as we just want her to go to the best, most suitable home.
