Description
This our lovely Bayard, who we have had since he was 8 weeks old. He is very sweet, great with children, good with other dogs, has basic training, is toilet trained, travels well in the car, and loves nothing more than a run in the woods or on the beach. He has no health issues other than past ear inflammation that has been sorted now that we've changed his diet. He was brought home with the hopes of him becoming an assistance dog for my autistic daughter, who would greatly benefit from a therapy/assistance dog. However Bayard is unfortunately too highly strung to be trained to be an effective assistance animal. He is too high energy for my daughter and therefore increases her stress rather than decreasing it. We also think he would be much happier in a larger house with a bigger garden, as my daughters place is too small for him to run around properly. Bayard would really benefit living in a quieter/more rural area rather than in town, as he is scared of loud vehicles, bikes, and loud comings and goings like roadworks/builders. Out and about in the fields and woods (and at home of course) he is a happy, confident and go lucky pup who loves to run! Bayard is unsure of men when he first meets them, but he comes around after spending some time with them. He is never aggressive, just anxious of them. Absolutely no problems with women or children. Bayard is neutered. He has never lived with cats, but I believe he would enjoy living with another confident dog.
This has been a very difficult decision, but for the sake of my daughter's wellbeing and Bayard's, we believe it is the right step to find him a new family. Price is to ensure the new family are taking on the commitment of this lovely boy seriously.
