Lovely 8-Year-Old Labrador Looking for His Forever Home š¾
Shadow is an 8-year-old Labrador looking for a loving, forever home. This is an extremely difficult decision as he is a fantastic dog and is very loved, but my circumstances have changed and I have too much on at the moment. I need to make life simpler and more manageable for myself and my children.
His new home is really important to me. Because of his separation anxiety, he ideally needs someone who is home most of the time. A retired person/couple or someone who works from home would probably suit him best. He is improving with being left, but this is still something that needs continued work.
Shadow needs at least one 45-minute walk each day to keep him happy and content. He enjoys his walks but, being an older boy, he can struggle with very long walks, so he would suit someone who can give him regular moderate exercise rather than expecting him to manage long hikes.
Shadow is super friendly, affectionate and loves people. He can be very excitable and wants to say hello to everyone. Because of his size, he can accidentally knock over smaller children when excited, although he has lived happily with children aged 1ā8.
He is used to living with cats and has been happy around our cats.
He is completely house trained and has had no accidents in the house. He is generally very well behaved and is a lovely companion.
He does pull strongly on the lead, so a confident owner who can manage a strong dog is essential. His recall is getting better but is still a work in progress. I would not currently let him off lead around other people or animals, as he is extremely friendly and wants to run over and say hello.
He came to us as a rescue from an older lady and we have had him for around 3 months. He really is a lovely boy and deserves a home where he can get the time, attention, exercise and companionship he needs.
Ā£200, although I am willing to negotiate for the perfect home. Money is not the priority ā finding him the right forever home is.
I will be doing home checks and asking for photos of the home and garden before agreeing to anything. Ideally, I would also like to drop Shadow off myself so I can see where he will be living and make sure I am completely happy that it is suitable.
I am looking for a house with a secure garden and unfortunately donāt feel a flat would be suitable for him.
Please message with some information about yourself, your home, garden, work situation and previous experience with dogs.
Please only get in touch if youāre genuinely able to offer Shadow the type of home described above, as this is a very difficult decision for me. ā¤ļø
