I have 10 brecon buff ducks for sale . If you need help with slugs these are the solution. 1 adult female (who hatched 8 ducklings) and 1 female born earlier this year who was hand raised. All the ducks are 100% pure brecon buff (which is a rare breed) but they are NOT show ducks. The oldest female (1 year old) is the normal brown plummage, the other adult female has a silver plummage (accepted in the USA but not in the UK for showing). As she was hand reared as a single duck she is imprinted on humans and is very friendly. She will 'help' you whilst you are weeding but is not aggressive. The other 8 are young ducks who are almost fully grown but have not yet had their final moult so I cant be sure if they are male or female. I suspect 3 are male and the rest female. They have been free ranging with their mother since birth. They are all related so are not suitable for breeding. The females are great layers of eggs but we just keep them for getting rid of slugs. They do not fly nor do they need a large pond and as long as they have a bucket of fresh water they can get their necks into. However they would love it if you could provide a kiddie pool and will entertain you with their swimming underwater and splashing. They do need a safe (predator proof) space at night and will go to bed once they get used to it. Ducks must be in groups of at least 2. If you have a male Brecon Buffs they like to have at least 2 females with them otherwise the female can get overly 'bothered' by the male. Unless you have a group of all male ducks - the males can fight each other over the females if the ratios not right. Just because they are not for sale for a large price doesnt mean there is anything wrong with them. We just have too many for our needs.
