Description

🐾 Meet Chabelle Chabelle is a lovely 3-year-old neutered boy who I’m helping another rescue find the right home for. His owner moved abroad and sadly couldn’t take him, so another rescue stepped in and he is currently staying in their cattery. It has given Chabelle somewhere safe to go, but it’s very much a short-term option rather than the right long-term environment for him. I’d really love to get him out of the cattery and settled back into a proper home of his own as soon as we can find the right match ā¤ļø šŸ” The home Chabelle needs Chabelle has always been an indoor cat and needs to remain indoor-only. At three years old he has no experience of roads, railways or the other risks that come with outdoor access, so I wouldn’t want to suddenly introduce him to free roaming now. He would also really benefit from a calm, settled and fairly predictable home. As a youngster, Chabelle lived with children with additional needs and did find the environment and activity quite stressful. With time he adjusted and settled, but taking that history into account, I don’t feel a home with children is right for him at the moment. That doesn’t mean I would rule out someone who is planning to have children in the future. Right now, I just feel Chabelle needs the opportunity to have a calm environment without too many stress factors, feel completely safe and make a home his own. The fact that he adjusted previously is reassuring when thinking about changes that may happen further down the line. A little about his health Chabelle is currently well, takes no long-term medication and my own vet has reviewed his records and is happy with how he’s doing. He did have some urinary problems in 2024, including one episode that required hospital treatment, but he recovered well. Reassuringly, there were no bladder stones, crystals or kidney damage identified. Since then he’s had just one much milder bout of cystitis, which settled with anti-inflammatory medication and didn’t develop into anything more serious. It’s simply something his future owner needs to be aware of and keep an eye on. As with any cat with a previous urinary problem, if symptoms ever appeared again I’d want him checked promptly. He also needs to stay on wet food only to help keep his fluid intake up. So although there is some medical history to be aware of, Chabelle isn’t currently a poorly cat or a cat requiring ongoing medication or complicated medical care. He’s only three and hopefully has many happy years ahead of him. What he really needs now is the right indoor home, some stability and someone who will give him the chance to properly settle again. I’d really love to see him out of the cattery and back where he belongs — in a permanent home of his own. ā¤ļøšŸ¾ Interested in Chabelle?
