Description
Maddie is a 14 month old Jack Russell Cross Yorkie with a zest for life! She loves ALL humans and dogs. Unlike the breed, she is not a barker. In fact, she hates barking and noise. I am quietly retired and she has fitted in perfectly. Her favourite thing to do is chase balls (she will jump to reach) then she does a little victory lap; she loves her walks and sniffing; she loves bus rides and going in a car, or on the train; she swims in the sea. She will sit by my chair very contentedly. Maddie is fully house trained and will go through the night without needing the toilet. She sleeps in a crate in my bedroom with the door open. This means I get a good night's sleep and so does she! She eats Royal Canin which keeps her stools consistent, in both quantity and consistency. Thankfully, she's grown out of the puppy chewing phase. Maddie is trainable and knows the word "no"... but she is a terrier and there are some walks we'll do where she must remain on a long training leash for her own safety. There are others where I let her off the leash and she's straight out of the gate, doing her zoomies, going up to all her doggy friends. She is also a pup who jumps up to greet. Again, this unwanted behaviour can be modified with a reinforced, firm "No." And so why am I rehoming this "perfect" little dog? Two reasons: my health and because I don't have a private, enclosed, secure garden. Which means whenever the door is open or Maddie is outside she must remain on a long leash. This is NOT what I want for my precious little girl. I am absolutely heartbroken to be doing this but it is impossible to find accommodation with a private garden and I have to think about what's best for Maddie and not what's best for me. I would like Maddie's new family to have at least one other dog. Maddie is such a friendly little girl she is the sort of dog who will fit in seamlessly into any family. An absolute must is a safe, private, enclosed garden. You must be able to give Maddie time, energy, walks and lots of love. Maddie is black and tan and small in size.
She has the build, stamina and bounce of a JR but the wiry, hypoallergenic coat of a Yorkie. I have had Maddie's coat cut once at the beginning of the Summer but, she's a Scruffy Muffy and will not need regular grooming. Maddie is booked in to be spayed for October. This is sensible because she was out of action for a whole month with her season. Any potential family will need to visit for an introductory meet before any decisions can be made. If you have the time, energy and love for this precious, precious little girl then please do get in touch with me. Thank you.
