💛 “She waited three days… now she’s waiting for you.” 💛
Meet Perdita (Perdy) — a beautiful golden retriever cross with the softest fur and the gentlest soul. At around 3–4 years old and Labrador-sized, she’s the perfect companion for someone looking for a loyal, loving dog… with just a little extra character.
Perdy’s story hasn’t been an easy one. She was found abandoned on a street corner in Egypt, where she waited faithfully for three days for her owner to return. Sadly, they never did. She was rescued in a very poor state — underweight, unwell, and in need of urgent care. But fast forward to today, and Perdy is now healthy, safe, and ready for her second chance in a loving UK home.
She may not be the dog who rushes up to strangers straight away — she prefers a polite introduction (and who can blame her!). Sometimes she’ll let out a little bark if she’s unsure, but this is improving all the time as her confidence grows.
Once she trusts you, though, you’ll have a best friend for life — the kind who sticks by your side and saves her best cuddles just for you.
What makes Perdy special?
🐾 Walks beautifully on a harness and loves a good sniff (no rush, she’s more “Sunday stroll” than marathon runner… unless she’s in a secure field!)
🐾 In a safe enclosed space, she transforms into a joyful, bouncy puppy — zoomies included
🐾 Her favourite thing? You. Followed closely by sofa snuggles at the end of the day
🐾 Gets along with some dogs and would really benefit from having the right doggy companion in the home — a meet & greet would be essential
The practical bits:
Golden retriever cross, approx. 3–4 years old
Healthy, neutered, vaccinated, microchipped
Flea, tick, and worm treated, with full passport
Not cat tested
Would benefit from basic training (she’s clever and very food-motivated — think “enthusiastic student” rather than “class clown”)
Her ideal home:
Perdy would thrive in a calm, semi-rural or rural home with experienced owners who understand that good things take time. She’d suit a quieter household without children and not too many visitors — somewhere she can relax, build confidence, and truly feel safe. She would also love another dog in the home, as long as it’s the right match for her.
Perdy isn’t a “ready-made” dog — she’s something much more special. She’s the kind of dog who will choose you, trust you, and love you in a way that feels truly earned.
She’s been waiting months already… surely her person is out there?
