Description
Big Bad Bear - Ok that's a joke ! He's not big, nor is he bad ! But we have your attention !! And he is infact called Bear
2016
15'2 / 158cm Dun Gelding
A quality well bred AES Registered
Available to a competent home only
Bear is a super unspoilt gelding who has low mileage due to being mis matched with his previous long term owner.
Hacks very well alone and in company. Not spooky not silly is happy to lead the hack aswell as tuck in comfortably at the tail end of the ride.
Bear has been a real asset for me the tail end of last year where he was used to lead my daughter on her pony off - right before we took the big step of taking her lead rope off and letting her free into the world. Bear took this job seriously and was a true trusted mount for me.
Loves a wing around a XC course. Ideal little fun ride type. Will jump happily up to around 75/80 at the moment but with the scope to do alot more with work and time.
Having only ever jumped coloured poles since with me - Bear is a little green and looky as you would imagine but again genuine kind and whilst raw very trainable.
On for flat in the arena he will work up ans down the gaits proving to be a leg on sort. Weather this is due to greenness of genuine laid back attitude either way lots to work with and a sensible sane structure to build off.
Loads like a darling onto a trailer and lorry and travels perfectly. I've personally travelled him lots of miles and he's a star passengers
The main selling point / prize winning attribute of this chap is his on the ground nature and temperament. He can be handled by the smallest of children and less experienced of yard staff. Making him the more perfect natural horsemanship candidate, best friend, groundwork equitation etc
Bear will windsuck when stabled however fully manageable with a collar
Happy to work barefoot or great with the farrier if needed to be shod
No other stable vices or field vices
No sweetitch or sarcoids
Happy to turn out with mares and geldings is always super easy to catch and first at the gate to say hi.
Since being with me last year as a team we have grown super fond of him and are able to give new home lots of Information on his like and dislikes.
Previously Bear is said to have had a few unpredictable moments where he's got fresh/keen/worried we are unsure exactly what has happened as was with previous owners - but for this reason he is absolutely not going to be sold to any nervous, novice or idiotic people. We will
Expect you to hold an honest conversation about your ability and expectations of him moving forward.
We have rehomed bear once and sadly it didn't work out - this time it's paramount it does! He's a real sweetheart and he does truly deserve his own one to one.
If you think you could be the new best friend for this absolutely amazing best boy please pop us a message !!
