Description

Meet Totoro 💙 Totoro has been in our care since the end of April after being rescued from an abandoned house alongside three other cats. Understandably, he was very frightened when he first arrived, but despite everything he had been through, he quickly showed us what a loving and affectionate little boy he truly is. Totoro absolutely adores attention and will happily soak up all the fuss he can get. He is playful, friendly, and has a wonderful nature that makes everyone fall in love with him. When Totoro was rescued, he was suffering from a severe flea infestation which caused significant damage to his tail. Despite several courses of antibiotics and every effort to save it, the damage was too extensive, and he is scheduled to have his tail amputated on 09/06/26. He will be ready to go to his forever home once he has recovered completely, we are estimating this to be in around 3 weeks. During his time with us, we also discovered that Totoro was struggling with his breathing. Following veterinary investigations, he has been diagnosed with asthma and now receives a daily inhaler. Because of this, he will need a home that can manage his ongoing care and use low-dust litter. He currently uses silica litter, as dusty litters can aggravate his condition. For full transparency, his inhaler costs approximately £35, this has 120 doses so would last 4 months, refills could be less as we have already paid for all start up equipment. All other veterinary treatment, including his neutering, tail amputation, and oxygen therapy, has been covered by the rescue. Due to his asthma and upcoming tail amputation, Totoro will need to be an indoor-only cat. While cats adapt remarkably well to life without a tail, keeping him indoors will help protect both his balance and his respiratory health. Totoro is currently in foster care, is fully litter trained, and is ready to find the loving forever home he deserves. He has overcome so much already and now just needs someone willing to give him the happy ending he has been waiting for. If you think you could offer Totoro the safe and loving home he deserves, please get in touch with us.
