Description

I'm absolutely heartbroken to have to make an advert for Flynn. He is 6 months old working spaniel puppy and he is a wonderful dog with heaps of energy which is the exact reason why I need to look to rehome him. We have previously had spaniel breeds and when selecting him as a puppy, I didn't think twice about his energy requirements. He is walked once a day across rural fields for over an hour and plays with my children but his needs are greater than we can meet. I want to be explicitly clear that nothing has happened that should cause alarm as to why he is being rehomed. He is absolutely delightful in nature and very loving. He is just too much for us and our home and our lifestyle which is incredibly sad because I understand that this is on me and my short sightedness when picking a puppy. It is an absolute must that whoever rehomes him has a garden and that he would have access to that on a regular basis. That he is walked at least once a day and ideally off the lead but he has not been trained to do that as of yet. I fully believe because of his breed type and his intelligence that he is very trainable and this would be achievable very quickly, especially if it's a treat driven task. He has been fully inoculated, but has not been castrated as he is not quite old enough. I do think that he would benefit from that in terms of calming him down, but that's obviously up to the preference of whoever takes him on. He is also micro chipped I just need to find the paperwork for that. He currently has a mix of Harrington's puppy biscuits and Aldi's meaty range. I can give the food that he is currently on as well as his harness and lead. I would love for him to go to a home that understands this type of breed well. So please research field spaniels or working cocker spaniels and understand their drive and energy needs before taking him on because he really does need to be settled. He is ready for rehoming whenever, I would really like to know a bit about you and your home and your background if possible, just so that I feel comfortable with the transition as this is incredibly sad for me and my children.
