Description
Sully (now called Magnus) is one of Rina’s puppies, originally rehomed in October 2025. Rina is a Gordon Setter cross and we believe the father may have been a neighbouring Collie who went wandering, so Magnus is a bit of a mixed bag, but a very handsome one!
Sadly, Sully is looking for a new home through no fault of his own. Due to changes in his family’s circumstances, they are no longer able to give a young, active dog the time and attention he needs. Sully is a loving, affectionate and intelligent young dog who loves being around people and being part of family life. He loves attention, enjoys playing and has a wonderful gentle nature. His favourite toys are a ball and his much loved rope elephant (which is now mostly just rope!), and he is always up for a game of fetch. He often likes to carry his toy around for a while before bringing it back and enjoys being chased as part of the game.
As you would expect from a young dog, Sully is energetic and active. He would be best suited to a home that can provide plenty of exercise, mental stimulation, training and play. Like many youngsters, he occasionally helps himself to socks, shoes, tissues and anything else that catches his eye, although this is far less common when he has had enough exercise and enrichment. He also loves his Kong ball and is becoming quite the expert at getting treats out of it, no matter how challenging his adopters make it.
Sully is toilet trained and will let his adopters know when he needs to go outside, although there may be a few step backs while he settles into a new home. He enjoys his walks and loves being off lead in areas where it’s safe to do so. He is a clever boy who already knows sit, stay, down, drop, spin and leave it, responding well to both verbal commands and hand signals. He has very good recall for his age and will come when called by name, to “come here”, or to a whistle. Like any young dog, he can occasionally be distracted by exciting sights and smells, but if you jog backwards and call him, he will almost always come running to join in the fun.
Magnus is wonderful with children and has lived happily with both a five year old child and a newborn baby. He can become excited around children, but he is always loving and gentle. He is particularly attentive when the baby cries and will often go over to check that everything is okay. He is also very good with other dogs and enjoys their company, although he can be a little over enthusiastic when he first meets them!
Sully can become excited and vocal around cats, so we feel a cat free home would be best for him. He could happily live as an only dog or with other dogs and can also live with children. He is generally a confident young dog, although he can be a little anxious in busier environments. Sully is a lovely, affectionate boy with lots of potential and will make a great addition to a family. Sully is currently in Kent.
