Description

Marnie is a medium sized girl who is thought to be around 11 years of age. Pawprints rescued her from a Kill Shelter in late 2024 and took her to the safety of one of our shelters in Curtea De Arges Prior to this she had lived a life on the streets of Romania. Marnie travelled to her Foster home in the UK in November 2025. Marnie is vaccinated, microchipped and spayed She required emergency treatment at the Vet while in Romania due to an infection but made a full recovery She has also visited the Vet while in Foster….. (to be updated when more info is available - contact Aisling for details in the meantime) Marnie has settled very well in her Foster home and enjoys spending time in the garden on dry days She likes to be in the company of her Foster Mum, particularly in the evening, who describes her as “the most well adjusted dog she’s ever had and not triggered by anything”. Marnie is very gentle and friendly with visitors and happy to greet everyone, she often flops onto the floor expecting belly rubs! Marnie currently lives happily alongside 3 other dogs, she enjoys walks with them and the occasional snuggle on the sofa She has not shown any food or resource guarding behaviours and could live with a dog of a similar energy level in her forever home She is a confident, independent girl though so this isn’t essential and she’d be equally content as an only dog in the home Marnie has spent some time with cats while in the UK with no issues She didn’t show any interest in them whatsoever! She has shown a prey drive with regards to squirrels and rabbits while out and about though so we would recommended initial separation and slow, sensible introductions to any cats within her new home Marnie hasn’t met children while in Foster or prior to this that we are aware of Due to her advancing years and preference for a calmer, quieter environment nowadays we feel she would most enjoy a child free home Or being part of a family with no young children, we suggest any children in the home be aged 12 years plus Marnie is both toilet and crate trained, she sleeps well overnight in the kitchen after a toilet break in the garden around 11pm. Marnie has never been destructive in the home and has been left, with the resident dogs for company, for up to 6 hours with no issues She is content to sleep in her bed with the radio providing some background noise while her Foster Mum is out. Marnie accepts a lead and harness and will sit patiently while these are put on before leaving the house She enjoys the freedom of an extendable lead and having a good sniff around while on her walks She can show a bit of a stubborn streak if something takes her interest in a particular direction! She is always happy to meet people and calm dogs when out and about As previously stated, Marnie is well adjusted and external stimuli such as cars etc do not bother her. Marnie travels well in the car after some initial encouragement, she will not readily jump into her Foster’s van but can be persuaded She is safely restrained for journeys as she tends to leap out as soon as the van doors open at her destination! Marnie’s Foster Mum has the following to say about her : “Marnie loves her food and has been spoilt with the addition of sardines, cooked chicken or scrambled egg! She really enjoys chew treats, especially the ones wrapped in chicken. Marnie is the sweetest. She even enjoys going to the vets! She is still learning her name and will need further training on recall. It helps to call and clap to get her attention. She is a wonderful dog and will make a very loving, loyal companion.”
