Description
Meet Bertie – a loving, playful boy looking for his perfect home ❤️
Bertie is a 6 year old, mixed breed boy, potentially with a hint of Basset Hound, who was rescued in Cyprus and flew to the UK in January 2023. He really is a Cyprus Special mix boy weighing around 19 kg, so a medium size, but with his shorter legs he is not a tall boy.

About Bertie 🐾
Bertie is a loving, affectionate boy who absolutely thrives on human companionship. He adores people of all ages, including children, and is happiest when he’s close to his favourite person. He forms strong bonds and will be a wonderfully loyal companion in the right home.
He’s a playful dog with a fun personality and enjoys interaction and games. Bertie has previously lived with other dogs and can enjoy their company, but he can be a little “pushy” and doesn’t always recognise when other dogs have had enough. Because of this, he would be happiest and most relaxed as the only dog in the home.

Temperament & Behaviour
Bertie is not naturally aggressive and has been assessed by a behaviourist, who found he is more likely to respond if challenged rather than initiate problems. In a calm environment without the pressures of other dogs, he settles well and shows his true, gentle nature.
He is very people-focused and can become quite attached to his owner, so he would suit a home where someone is around for much of the day. He may need some support settling and building confidence in his new environment.

Why Bertie Needs a New Home 💔
Bertie is a much-loved dog, and this decision has not been made lightly. Due to ongoing tension with other dogs in the household, he is living with underlying stress. We truly believe he will thrive in a calmer, single-dog home where he can fully relax and be the centre of attention.

Could You Be Bertie’s Person? ❤️
Bertie has so much love to give and is just waiting for the right home where he can feel safe, secure, and understood. In the right environment, he will make an incredibly loyal and rewarding companion.
