I have a male crested gecko about 8 or 9 years old. I’ve had him for nearly 5 years. He loves to come out of his terrarium which he will come with, it’s a 45x45x60 exo terra enclosure and everything inside will come with him too. He will come with extra plastic bowls and extra food, he does not like watermelon flavoured food though. He hasn’t ever fed on bugs as when I bought him his previous owner told me he felt sick after? So I’m not sure about that but you can always try! He’s a sweetheart and never bit he did however learnt that if he poops he will be put back in his enclosure so that’s how he will let you know he’s done being held.
