Penny 🦄 8 year old, 12hh safe cob mare
Penny is an ideal lead rein or second pony, and would make a fantastic Pony Club pony. We have owned her for the past year, and she is only for sale as her rider has sadly lost interest, meaning Penny is currently being wasted in the field. She is a solid little pony with plenty of substance, a real leg in each corner type.
Penny is easy to handle in every way. She is happy living in or out and mixes well with both mares and geldings of all sizes, from Shetlands up to 17hh horses. She is a very good doer, lives off fresh air, and has no history of laminitis or any other health issues.
She stands perfectly at the mounting block and is incredibly patient and forgiving with novice or unbalanced riders. Penny is excellent in traffic, including heavy farm machinery and tractors. She is a superb hacking pony, happy to go alone or in company, and will go first or last without fuss. She knows her job well and will happily follow her leader wherever she is asked.
A genuine confidence giver on the lead rein, Penny is equally happy stepping up a gear for a more competent rider. She enjoys a fun ride around a cross country course and is capable of working nicely in an outline, but is just as content plodding to the local pub on a pub ride and standing quietly tied up outside.
She loads and travels well in a box or lorry, either alone or with company. She is easy to catch and can happily be brought in from the field by my 5 year old. She stands quietly to be groomed by children.
Penny will be sold with her rugs and full tack, including her saddle which was fitted to her.
No loans or LWVTB please. We are simply looking for a loving, fun home where this lovely little mare can continue to give a family as much enjoyment as she has to us.
