Description
I am looking for a loving, experienced home for my 3 month old Shollie puppy. This is an extremely difficult decision, as she is a super smart and sweet puppy with a huge amount of potential, but I have realised that I am not the right home for her long-term.
She is very intelligent, highly trainable and eager to learn. She already knows a number of commands and is making great progress with her training. She is crate trained, sleeps through the night, and almost fully toilet trained. She has been carefully socialised and exposed to a range of people and environments.
She is friendly with people, including children and other dogs. However she is not suitable for homes with children, and other dogs would need to have the right temperament for high drive working line puppy.
Like many young herding breed puppies, she can become extremely excitable during play, and can be physically intense when overstimulated. These behaviours are being worked on, but her new home should be prepared to continue her training and manage her carefully while she matures.
She is an energetic, confident puppy who would suit an active home with people who enjoy training and are prepared to continue giving her the structure, exercise and mental stimulation that a Shollie needs. I think she has the potential to become a fantastic companion for someone who is experienced with high-drive herding breeds.
She would therefore be best suited to someone who understands young, intelligent working/herding breeds and is commited to continuing consistent training. I would want her to go to a home where her needs and temperament are genuinely understood rather than simply to the first person interested.
The reason for rehoming is that I will starting college late September, and I have had to accept that the level of training she needs is not compatible with this.
This is a very difficult decision and her welfare is my priority. I am happy to provide more information about her temperament, training, routine, health and behaviour to genuinely interested and suitable homes.
She is fully vaccinated, chipped and has been health checked by a vet. She will come with most of a 15kg bag of Eukanuba large breed puppy food, and some of her favourite toys.
