Description

Shadow is a loving, playful and intelligent 7-month-old male Italian Greyhound × Saluki lurcher looking for an experienced forever home due to a change in circumstances. Shadow is microchipped, vaccinated, up to date with flea and worm treatment, and has no known health issues. Shadow is also not neutered as advised by vet until he is older. He knows sit, paw, down, come and his name. He loves running, playing with toys, treats and spending time with people. He is loving and affectionate. Shadow is a high-energy young dog who needs an active owner willing to continue his training. He is still learning lead manners, can pull, bounce and spin when excited, jumps up to greet people and can be mouthy during play. He is friendly with other dogs but can become over-excited, so supervision and continued training are needed. Shadow can bark at times, especially when excited, but he is not a constant barker. When left alone, he may bark initially but is able to settle after a while. He can currently be left for a few hours. Shadow is currently reluctant to get into a car by himself and will need to be lifted in. Once in the car, with reassurance and encouragement, he settles well and travels calmly. He would suit an experienced owner, ideally familiar with lurchers or high-energy breeds, with time for exercise, training and mental stimulation. A secure garden would be a bonus. He is not suited to cats or small animals. Due to his energy and training needs, a home without young children would be preferred due to his high-energy and jumping and mouthing during play.
