This has been the hardest decision and it is heart-breaking to make however I have to do what will be best for him. He will not be going just anywhere. He will stay until a 10* home is found. 2-Year-Old American Akita – Forever Home Needed About Him: • 2yo American Akita — perfectly behaved indoors, good as gold - can be excitable at times • Calm, loving, great with children — absolutely adores them • Gentle around food/treats; never shown aggression to people • Loves play-fighting & fetch; independent but very affectionate What He Needs: • Walked daily & consistent routine/structure • Lead walking, recall & basic training — he pulls & has selective hearing • Cat-free home essential — does not like cats • Loving family home or one-to-one — someone around often, includes him in daily life • Akita / large breed experience preferred ( read up on the breed if have not owned one before )— understands his needs Around Other Dogs: • May growl/guard high-value items (bones/toys) — never attacked another dog • has been attacked in the past and fought back • Can get excited around other dogs on walks - jumps around an makes a load of noise ( basic training should be able to cancel this out ) Why He Needs a New Home: It is 100% no fault of his own. He is a wonderful boy — I simply cannot give him the time he needs anymore nor the basic training, exercise & confidence he deserves. He deserves to go out with someone who is able to give him the training so he can thrive. He has so much potential & with the right patient home and training, he’ll be amazing.
