Monty - German Shepherd x Belgian Malinois - Looking for an Experienced, Loving Home
Monty is a 6-year-old German Shepherd/Malinois cross looking for a new home due to significant changes in circumstances over the past couple of years. This is an incredibly difficult decision, and the priority is simply finding him the right environment where he can thrive.
Monty is a loyal, intelligent, affectionate dog with a huge personality once he knows and trusts you. He loves attention, enjoys playing, and has a funny, expressive nature that makes him a very rewarding companion.
As a working-breed cross, Monty is energetic and strong, so he would suit someone experienced with larger breeds who understands the importance of structure, exercise, stimulation, and consistency. He has not had the lifestyle he truly needs recently, and because of this he can be reactive around other dogs and unfamiliar people while on walks. However, with the right handling, routine, and continued training, he has great potential in the right home.
Monty has previously lived with other dogs and enjoyed their company, so a calm, well-matched dog companion could potentially suit him. He would be best placed in an adult-only home or with older children who are confident around larger dogs. A home without cats would be preferred.
He is neutered and up to date with flea, worming, and tick treatments. He will come with all of his belongings, including leads, bedding, toys, and accessories.
