Twixie is one of those dogs who doesnât demand attentionâyet somehow deserves it the most.
Born around November 2024, he is just about a year old, still at the very beginning of his life. And yet, instead of discovering the world from the safety of a loving home, Twixie has spent his entire puppyhood growing up in a shelter.
He was rescued from a kill shelter. He survived.
He grew.
He blossomed into a gentle young soul.
But he is still waiting.
Waiting for someone to truly see him.
Waiting for someone to choose him.
Despite everything he has known so far, Twixie remains soft, kind, and quietly hopeful. There is no bitterness in himâonly patience and trust that his moment will come.
⨠Personality:
Twixie has a gentle, sensitive, and beautiful nature. He is not a dog who pushes himself to the front or clamours for attention.
Affectionate in a quiet, undemanding way
Twixie gets along with the other dogs in the shelter and never causes conflict.
He is the kind of dog who is often overlookedânot because he lacks anything, but because his goodness is subtle.
And yet⌠once you truly see him, you realise just how much love he has to give.
đ Size:
Twixie is a compact medium-sized dog, approximately 40â45 cm at the shoulder. Exact measurements can of course be taken upon interest.
đž Appearance & possible mix:
Twixie is a strikingly handsome young dog with a glossy dark coat, a soft, soulful expression, and an elegant build. Based on his looks, we believe he may be a shepherd-type mix with Labrador influences. As with most rescue dogs, this remains an educated guessâbut it fits him beautifully, both in looks and temperament.
đł What kind of home does Twixie dream of?:
Twixie longs for a calm, loving home where he can finally experience what it means to belong. He would thrive with people who appreciate gentle dogs and understand that not every treasure shouts to be found.
A secure garden would be wonderful, but above all, Twixie needs someone who opens their heartâand their lifeâto him. He has already lost so much time. His youth should not pass by unnoticed.

Friends InDeed is a registered charity. All adoptions are subject to a home check (online if required). We place our dogs only with true dog lovers, with a private garden and no children under 10 years old. Our dogs are family companionsânot working, therapy, or assistance dogs.
We remain available for post-adoption support and are a transparent rescue organisation actively involved in spay and neuter programmes. We have successfully placed over 500 dogs with families across the UK.

Adrian and the team at Friends inDEED have been wonderful. We were able to go meet our dog with her sisters and we were in frequent communication during the adoption, and since with updates etc. We were also provided with some food, and lent a harness & lead to bring her home. She has already been incredibly well trained for a rescue dog as we have had no toilet accidents and she is already wonderful on her lead.
