Description
Roy is my pure bred blue merle border collie. He has a brilliant nature and is always happy to see everyone - people, children, other dogs, brilliant with livestock etc. He's a huge softie and has a lovely temperament and very in tune with peoples emotions, he likes to make sure everyone is alright bless him. Roy is truly an all rounder and is used to busy environments, we go on buses/trains/car/ been to cities all over and even festivals and gigs, he always behaves himself and is a great pub dog. He loves going to the beach, camping trips and exploring on big hikes with us, great with other dogs, absolutely no bother with other males, just wants to be friends with everyone! No neorotic collie behaviours, he just takes it all in his stride.
Work wise Roy has a great work drive and will happily work all day on the farm and do anything asked of him and use his own initiative too. He's not daft and not got too much eye, keeps the sheep moving nicely and will stand up to anything, amazing in lambing time, in the pens and up the moor and got a great off switch. Let's us know if someone's coming in the garden or a strange car pulls up, knows who lives on the street and will happily watch people and dogs walk by our garden all day without a peep unless someone's coming in, will bark but very friendly if he knows I'm happy for them to be there, so he is a great alarm system and makes us feel safe without being over the top.
He's got typical collie brains and trainability and I like to do all sorts with him, lots of obedience as he is like a sponge, he even models for a dog life drawing class sometimes! He's nice and calm in the house, I dont have to keep him entertained at all hours, fine being left at home, he's never been any bother even when he was a puppy, he was just so easy to train. I bred Roy myself and I have his mum, Peggy who is my epilepsy service dog (roys future job when she retires) and she also works sheep. He has a long line of working border collies on both sides and his dad is ISDS/KC registered red and white dog Cranbeck Marley.
Roys offspring are getting a great balance of working ability and pet suitability, they would all make fantastic working dogs, whether it was farm work, service dog work, scent work or just extremely loyal companions. One of his brothers is doing really well at agility, one sister is a fantastic companion and has done all the Yorkshire peaks with her owner and his other brother and sister are the main dogs on working farms.

All health tests are clear, happy to show these on request, he is a carrier for cia (collie eye anomaly) which doesn't effect him or any pups, but does mean he will have to go to bitches who are clear.
Good temperaments only, most breeds welcome, no merles or cryptic merles as this can lead to double merle puppies.
